Impact of Wold Cup on KLJC

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share with you all some recent news as to how the World Cup – more especially England games – are going to/may impact our regular Tuesday jazz evenings at the Services Club.

The changes are because the Theatre Bar is going to be used by the Services Club to show any England games during the tournament. This means that for the Jazz Club there will be:

ONE DEFINITE EVENING CANCELLATION

At the moment, we know there is one definite date, 23rd June, 2026, when we will not be able to present you with a live band, but KLSA members will be welcome to watch the footie.

THREE EVENINGS AT RISK OF CANCELLATION

There are three more dates, that are potentially at risk depending on

a) how well or not England do and

b) which route they fall into for the knock-out rounds.

So, the dates that are “at risk of cancellation” at the moment are 30th June, 7th July and 14th July.

So we just wanted you to be aware that we have definitely lost one date and that we may lose between one and three more depending on England’s progress and how the draws work.

We promise to keep everyone informed as soon as we know ourselves. As you can imagine, we are disappointed that we have some cancellations of dates this year due to the football, but, of course, wish the England team every success in this year’s tournament, and keep our fingers crossed that England progress, but are not playing on Tuesday evenings. 🤞

Watch this space for updates nearer the time.

We love to see new faces and there is always a great welcome and friendly faces. Come along and see what it's all about. You will be surprised to find the many different types of music and styles that come under the banner of Jazz and we present pretty much all of them.
