Kings Langley Jazz Club Home

Welcome to Kings Langley Jazz Club (KLJC)

Every Tuesday evening, KLJC hosts great live jazz music. You might see bands ranging in size from a 17 piece big band to small combos of trios or quartets. The bands are formed from wonderful local musicians, who come together here to play the music they, and we love. We also host “special evenings”, a few times a year, when we are delighted to welcome some of the UK’s top jazz professionals – see below.

If you want to know who’s playing in the weeks to come just click the “WHAT’S ON” link below or go to the tab at the top of the page depending on the media you are using:

A friendly and welcoming venue for those who enjoy quality live jazz music

The Theatre Bar,
Kings Langley Services Club,
3-5 Hempstead Road, Kings Langley, WD4 8BJ
.

Every Tuesday evening, we present performances from a wide range of quality local musicians playing in combos from trios to 17 piece Big Bands, often with vocalists.

Expect anything from Trad, Modern Jazz, Blues, Latin, Swing, American Songbook, some pop etc. the full gamut of the music called Jazz.

Details of who is on each week will be found here on regular posts. We also produce a monthly hard copy leaflet, which you can pick up at the Club. Details are also posted on our Facebook (FB) page Kings Langley Jazz Club (see link below) or by signing up to our private WhatsApp Group and you will also find details on Kings Langley Services Club’s Lemonrock page. Photos and videos of past performances are posted on both our FB page and our WhatsAppGroup.

No membership needed. Drinks are at club prices. Just sign in, make yourselves comfortable, ready to enjoy the nice stage and super acoustics.

Entrance is free but we do need to pay the bands/musicians, so we have a collection during the evening when the suggested minimum donation is £5 per person and £10+ contributions are suggested for our “Special” evenings when we welcome professional musicians to KLJC.

Our occasional raffles help pay for the running of the club, but mainly help us fund:

Hertswing – a mainstay of KLJC – a 17 piece big band, often with a guest vocalist, playing challenging arrangements that are always a joy to listen to.

The Jim Phillips Big Band featuring vocalist Sami – super arrangements, opportunities for young and not so young musos to have a blow and provide a good night at the same time.

Kings Club Seven – featuring the wonderful vocalist Annie – these guys have been playing the club in different incarnations for many, many years. KC7 = Kings Club Seven.

For more photos, historical and more recent, click above, or on the tab at the top of this page). Please note that videos are not uploaded to this website, it costs too much, but you can find very many on both our Facebook (FB) and WhatsAppGroup pages. See below to find out how to get onto our FB page and/or just ask about the WhatAppGroup when you are at the club next time.

Our Facebook Page is: Kings Langley Jazz Club (and NOT King’s Langley Jazz Club)

It is a Private Group but is visible to search if you are a FB member. Once you have found the Kings Langley Jazz Club Group Page you can then ask to join the group. This will give you access to gig reminders as well as videos of past events. Please remember there is no apostrophe for the FB Group Name – it you put in an apostrophe you will end up in the wrong place. Good hunting!

And finally, for anyone interested in reading a bit of the club’s history, as well as in the tab at the top of the page, extracts from the old web site can be found by clicking the link above.
